What's inside

Six shifts. One small thing to try with each.

Every couple hits the same handful of walls. These are the ideas — straight from Scripture — that actually help when life gets loud.

1

Talk about the big things, on purpose

Get ahead of money, family, and parenting before they turn into fights.

2

Don't let your anger spoil

Deal with frustration before it ferments into resentment — the thing that quietly ends marriages.

3

Outserve each other

Trade scorekeeping for the quiet habit that makes a home finally feel like rest.

4

Forgive like you've been forgiven

Stop carrying the old receipts you were never meant to hold.

5

Drink from your own well

Protect what's yours in a world of endless digital counterfeits — without shame.

6

Build on the same foundation

The third strand that holds the other five together.

More than a tip list

Each of the six comes with three things

📖

A verse to stand on

The Scripture behind each shift, in plain, modern language (CSB).

🙏

A prayer to pray

A short, fill-in-the-blank prayer you can speak over your marriage tonight.

🌙

Something to try tonight

One specific, doable action — so it changes your night, not just your notes.

Who's behind this

Meet Dillon & Kailee

Dillon and Kailee McCurdy have the perfect marriage… just kidding.

We've been married eight years, and we definitely don't have it all figured out. But we're madly in love, and we communicate well — which mostly means: we talk.

Through moves, kids, miscarriages, ministry, farm life, and travel (that's us at the Giant's Causeway in Northern Ireland), this thing called marriage has been one wild, good adventure.

Jesus has led us back to Michigan to start a new church in Big Rapids. Whether you're a committed follower of Jesus or just exploring, we hope these tips from Scripture help you grow one of the most important relationships you'll ever have — your marriage.
